I’ve been creating characters and story lines for as long as I can remember. From my earliest childhood I made up intricate tales and told the stories to my siblings. Just out of high school I went to work in a small town weekly newspaper and fell head-over-heels crazy about the business. Surprisingly I never considered becoming a writer until I was more mature… okay old…er.

Since my mid-40s I have been published abundantly in local and regional print media, edited and wrote for (and later served as general manager of) a small town daily newspaper, owned and published a weekly newspaper and have written and self-published four books.

What I have learned is that I love to write, I love to read and I love to talk to other writers, which is why my latest undertaking, a radio program on KFUN Radio in Las Vegas, NM, is so exciting. The hour-long show features local authors as well as guests from all over the country who call in to discuss their books and the writing life. About once a month the show’s sponsor, Tome on the Range Bookstore, brings the newest (and sometimes early copies of soon-to-be published) books to the studio and we get to hear a little about the end product of why writers write.
